We’re looking for a resilient and committed Maths Tutor to deliver targeted catch-up tuition to Year 11 students who need extra support ahead of their GCSE exams. This role involves working with small groups or individuals, many of whom have gaps in learning and may display challenging behaviour. You’ll play a key role in rebuilding confidence, closing knowledge gaps, and helping students feel more in control of their learning. Strong behaviour management, calm authority, and the ability to build respectful relationships with teenagers are essential. This is a rewarding role for someone who believes in second chances and understands that progress isn’t always linear.

Key responsibilities- Deliver engaging, structured Maths catch-up sessions focused on GCSE outcomes
- Support students with gaps in numeracy, problem-solving, and exam confidence
- Build positive relationships with teenagers, using clear boundaries and consistent behaviour management
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of learning needs and emotional behaviours
- Track progress and adjust support to help students move forward
- Provide regular feedback and encouragement to keep students motivated
- Work collaboratively with school staff and Protocol Education to ensure consistent support

- Minimum Level 2 qualification in Maths and English
- Strong Maths subject knowledge, ideally up to GCSE level
- Experience working with secondary-aged students
- Confidence managing behaviour and engaging teenagers who may be disengaged from learning
- Clear communication skills and a calm, consistent approach

- Experience delivering intervention, tutoring, or catch-up programmes
- Experience supporting students with behavioural or emotional needs
