Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (ASC/ADHD) – Support That Goes Beyond the Classroom
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £89–£108 per day
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM
Start Date: September 2025

We’re working with a brilliant specialist school in Newcastle that supports children with autism and physical disabilities. They’re looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team and help create a learning environment that’s safe, supportive, and genuinely joyful.
This is the kind of role where no two days are the same—but every day matters.
Responsibilities

Providing 1:1 and small group support for children with ASC, ADHD, and physical needs

Helping to implement IEPs and adapting learning materials to the respective needs

Supporting social development and positive behaviour strategies

Assisting with personal care and using the school’s hydropool to support sensory and physical development

Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other TAs as part of a caring, collaborative team
What we’re looking for

Experience supporting children with autism and ADHD (personal experience welcome!)

Someone patient, nurturing, and great at reading the room

Excellent teamwork and communication skills

Confidence to support physical needs and personal care with sensitivity and professionalism
Nice to have

Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or Nursery Nurse equivalent)

Previous experience in a school or nursery setting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
