We are looking for a compassionate, proactive and child-centred Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school and its growing SEND team. This role will provide dedicated support for a Year 4 pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The child has complex needs and requires a calm, patient and intuitive adult who can help them navigate the school day while promoting independence, confidence and emotional wellbeing.

Alongside one-to-one support, you will work across Key Stage 2 classrooms and deliver small-group interventions that support both academic progress and social and emotional development.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A strong understanding of neurodiversity and inclusive practice.
  • Experience supporting children with social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • A patient and nurturing approach that helps children regulate emotions and build resilience.
  • The ability to form positive, trusting relationships with pupils and colleagues.
  • A commitment to developing independence and self-confidence in every child.
  • The resilience and dedication to make a meaningful difference every day.

The role will include:

  • Providing tailored support in line with a pupil's EHCP.
  • Adapting learning activities to ensure lessons remain accessible and engaging.
  • Delivering targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy and social skills.
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCo and external professionals.
  • Supporting pupils to achieve both academically and emotionally.

We believe every child deserves an adult who understands the power of connection, champions their potential and helps them become the very best version of themselves. If you are an empathetic and resilient professional who wants to make a lasting impact, we'd love to hear from you.

Important Information: This position is linked to EHCP funding meaning the contract may end earlier should funding cease, the child leave the school, or following a staffing review. The successful candidate will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS check and any requirements under the Childcare Act 2006 and Childcare (Disqualification) Regulations 2018. We welcome applications from candidates from all backgrounds and are committed to creating an inclusive and diverse workforce. All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
