We're working with a welcoming secondary school in Central Bristol that's looking to appoint a History Teacher from September. The school is happy to hear from both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking for their first role after completing their PGCE, and experienced teachers who are looking to join a supportive department where they can continue to develop their career.
This is a full-time position, paid to scale from MPS1 to MPS6, with the opportunity to become a permanent member of staff after 15 to 20 weeks, depending on how the placement progresses.
The role involves teaching History across Key Stages 3 and 4, planning and delivering engaging lessons while supporting pupils to achieve their potential. You'll also take on Form Tutor responsibilities and play an active role within the wider school community.
The Humanities department is well established, collaborative and well led, with shared planning and a genuine focus on supporting teachers at every stage of their career.
About the school: The school has built a strong reputation for creating a positive environment for both pupils and staff. You'll be joining a team that values collaboration, invests in professional development and provides consistent behaviour systems, allowing teachers to focus on delivering high-quality lessons. ECTs benefit from a structured induction programme and experienced teachers have opportunities to contribute to curriculum development and wider departmental responsibilities as their career progresses.

- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), this is essential
- Can teach History across KS3 and KS4
