SEN Teaching Assistant Required - Sutton

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children and young people with physical disabilities? A welcoming and inclusive school in Sutton is seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team and make a meaningful difference to pupils' educational journeys.

This rewarding role involves providing tailored support to students with a range of physical disabilities, helping them access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential within a supportive school environment.

The Role

  • Supporting pupils with physical disabilities on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Assisting with classroom activities and adapting learning where required
  • Promoting independence, confidence, and social development
  • Supporting mobility and personal care needs where necessary
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with physical disabilities
  • Experience within a school, SEN setting, care environment, or similar support role
  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Relevant experience supporting individuals with additional needs
