Protocol Education is working alongside a specialist primary provision in Sunderland seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and complex communication needs. The school provides a highly structured and nurturing environment where pupils are supported to develop independence, communication, and life skills.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Assisting with personalised learning programmes
- Supporting sensory regulation and communication strategies
- Encouraging independence throughout the school day
- Supporting social and emotional development
- Assisting with personal care where required
- Working closely with teachers, therapists and families
Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
Friday: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Requirements:
- Level 3 qualification desirable
- Experience supporting SEND pupils preferred
- Positive, patient and resilient attitude
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply and pay for one
- Full-time applicants only
