Protocol Education is looking for an experienced

Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Sunderland supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and complex additional needs.

You’ll work alongside teachers and therapists while leading interventions and covering classes when required, ensuring every pupil receives the highest level of support.

  • September start
  • Monday-Friday
  • Working hours between 8:30am-3:30pm and 8:30am-4:30pm
  • Term-time only

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons
  • Supporting pupils with EHCPs
  • Leading intervention groups
  • Monitoring pupil progress
  • Promoting positive behaviour
  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Ideal candidate
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
  • Experience supporting children with SEND
  • Excellent classroom management skills
  • Calm, patient and adaptable approach
