About the Role

We are seeking a Level 2 Qualified Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting in Sunderland, supporting pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support. This setting provides a structured, nurturing environment for pupils who have struggled to engage in mainstream education. You will play a key role in supporting learning, behaviour and emotional regulation, helping pupils build confidence and re-engage with education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Support the delivery of personalised learning programmes.
  • Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
  • Encourage positive engagement and learning routines.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
  • Monitor and feedback on pupil progress.
