Learning Support Assistant - Specialist Autism Provision in Sunderland

Protocol Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant for a specialist setting in Sunderland supporting learners with autism and severe learning difficulties.

This setting provides highly personalised education pathways focused on communication, independence and life skills.

Your Role:

• Support learning in class and during life skills sessions
• Encourage communication using visual aids and alternative communication methods
• Assist with sensory regulation strategies
• Help pupils develop confidence and independence
• Support transitions throughout the school day

Suitable Applicants May Have:

• SEND school experience
• Personal experience supporting autism
• Understanding of PECS, Makaton or visual timetables
• Strong empathy and patience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
