The Role
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Sports Coach to lead engaging physical education and sports sessions tailored to students’ individual abilities and needs. You’ll foster a safe and supportive environment where students can grow both physically and emotionally, using sport as tool for inclusion, self‑esteem, and resilience.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver fun, inclusive sports sessions designed for students with SEND and SEMH needs.

Adapt activities so all students can participate, regardless of physical, emotional, or cognitive challenges.

Promote teamwork, self‑confidence, and emotional well‑being through sport.

Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and support teams to align sessions with students’ Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

Monitor progress, provide feedback, and celebrate student achievements.

Support emotional regulation and social development through structured activities.

Build strong, trusting relationships with students, offering guidance and encouragement.

Ensure all activities are safe and comply with health and safety standards.
Person Specification
Qualifications

Relevant sports coaching qualification or a degree in Physical Education/Sports Science.

Additional SEND or SEMH‑related training is highly desirable.
Experience

Experience coaching or teaching children with SEND and/or SEMH needs is preferred.
