A Primary School in Newcastle Upon Tyne is looking for a Speech & Language Support professional to join their school-based provision from September 2026. This role is ideal for someone with a Speech and Language qualification or strong Speech & Language experience who is confident supporting pupils with communication and language needs within a primary setting.
Location: Newcastle (NE4)
Hours: 8:30 - 15:30, Monday-Friday
Start Date: September 2026 (trial sessions available ASAP)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide targeted Speech & Language support to pupils across school
- Deliver small group and 1:1 interventions to develop communication skills
- Support pupils with speech, language, and social communication needs
- Help pupils build confidence with vocabulary, comprehension, and expressive language
- Work closely with teachers and SEND staff to embed strategies into the classroom
- Support pupils with communication barriers to access learning and routines
What We're Looking For
- A Speech & Language qualification (or strong relevant experience)
- Experience supporting children with speech, language, and communication needs
- A calm, encouraging approach and strong interpersonal skills
- Confidence delivering interventions and tracking progress
