Job Duties:

  • Provide support to special needs students in the classroom
  • Assist the teacher in implementing individual education plans
  • Help students with personal care needs, including feeding and toileting
  • Support students in their social and emotional development
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Relevant experience working with special needs children

Experience:

Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of special educational needs and disabilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • First Aid certification
  • Makaton or other communication training

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a classroom setting
  • Potential exposure to challenging behaviours
  • Regular interaction with special needs students
