Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs? Protocol Education is working closely with a number of inclusive and nurturing SEND schools across Newcastle who are looking to appoint dedicated and patient Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants to support pupils with a range of complex needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties.
The Role:
- Work 1:1 or with small groups of pupils to support their individual learning and emotional needs.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
- Support pupils with personal care needs where required.
- Use strategies to manage behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with other professionals such as SENCOs and therapists.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (in school or other settings).
- A calm, caring, and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
