We are recruiting a Psychology Graduate Trauma‑Informed Support Assistant to work in a specialist education setting supporting children who have experienced emotional or behavioural difficulties. This role focuses on helping pupils feel safe, regulated and supported enough to engage with learning. Many pupils require consistent adult relationships and a calm, predictable approach.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small‑group basis
  • Using trauma‑informed strategies to support emotional regulation
  • Helping pupils manage anxiety and behavioural responses
  • Supporting engagement with learning and school routines
  • Observing behaviour patterns and emotional triggers
  • Working closely with SEN and pastoral teams

This role would suit someone who:

  • Holds a Psychology degree or related qualification
  • Has a strong interest in trauma, mental health or child development
  • Is calm, reflective and emotionally resilient
