We're working with a specialist alternative provision in the South Shields area that is looking for dedicated Pastoral Support Workers to join their supportive team. Operating across two sites, the provision supports pupils with a range of social, emotional and mental health needs. Staff are committed to creating a safe, nurturing environment where every pupil can succeed. We're looking for individuals who are passionate about helping young people overcome challenges and reach their full potential.

What you'll be doing:

  • Providing pastoral support to pupils throughout the school day
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour strategies
  • Building trusted relationships with pupils who may be disengaged from education
  • Assisting with behaviour interventions and conflict resolution
  • Supporting attendance, engagement and personal development
  • Working alongside teachers, families and external agencies

What we're looking for:

This advert is for a temporary position; in some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. Protocol Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’, which may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants. We offer free online safeguarding and Prevent Duty training to all workers. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and subscribe to the DBS Update Service.
