We are currently recruiting for dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join supportive Primary and Secondary schools across Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and helping them achieve their full potential in a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students with SEN on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
- Help students develop confidence, independence, and social skills
- Support students with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Create a safe, positive, and nurturing classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents/carers
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Passion for supporting student development and wellbeing
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable
- Experience working within UK schools
- Understanding of safeguarding and SEN procedures
- Experience supporting students with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language needs
- Relevant Teaching Assistant or SEN qualifications
