1:1 Teaching Assistant Required – Support for Year 4 child (SEND Support)

Location: S36, North Sheffield

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Full-time, Long-term

Pay: £90-105 per day (PAYE)

Do you have a calm, confident approach and a knack for bringing out the best in children who need a little extra support? We’re looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 4 pupil with Autism. This is a full-time role in a warm and welcoming primary school in S36, where your support will make a real difference to one child’s school journey.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing consistent, nurturing support throughout the school day
  • Using de-escalation strategies to help the pupil regulate emotions and stay engaged
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning to meet individual needs
  • Encouraging positive relationships, emotional resilience, and confidence in learning
  • Supporting behaviour plans and contributing to a safe, structured environment

About you:

  • Experience supporting children with SEND, SEMH, trauma, or challenging behaviour (school or alternative setting)
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive mindset
  • Thrive-trained or willing to complete Protocol Education’s free Thrive training (which schools love!)
  • Resilient and ready to be a trusted adult for a pupil who needs one most
