SEND Intervention Mentor

An ambitious and inclusive secondary school in Newcastle is looking for a passionate and experienced SEND Intervention Mentor to join its dedicated Inclusion team this September. The Role

• Deliver targeted one-to-one and small-group interventions for students with SEND
• Support pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, Dyslexia, Speech & Language needs, SEMH and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
• Work alongside teachers and the SENDCo to implement personalised learning plans
• Help students improve literacy, numeracy, communication and social skills
• Build trusting relationships that promote confidence, independence and resilience
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
• Encourage engagement, attendance and positive participation across the school day

You'll play a vital role in helping students make measurable academic and personal progress.

We're Looking For

• Previous experience supporting students with SEND in a secondary school or specialist setting
• Experience delivering interventions or structured support programmes
• Calm, patient and adaptable individuals
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently
• A genuine passion for inclusive education and helping every student succeed

Graduates in Psychology, Education, Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Criminology, Childhood Studies or related subjects are also encouraged to apply.
