What skills and experience we're looking for
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage SEND provision across the academy.
- Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice (2014) and statutory guidance.
- Work closely with the Executive Head and leadership team to develop and implement SEND strategy.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND provision across the school.
- Support teachers in delivering high-quality inclusive classroom practice.
- Coordinate and review targeted interventions to support pupil progress.
- Deliver small-group interventions to support pupils with additional needs.
- Provide occasional cover teaching where required.
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers and external agencies.
- Maintain accurate SEND records and oversee identification and assessment processes.
- Key Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCo)
- Experience of coordinating SEND provision, ideally in a primary setting.
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Commitment to ensuring the best outcomes for pupils with additional needs
