A rewarding career where every day makes a difference. Protocol Education is recruiting full‑time SEN Teaching Assistants to join specialist provisions across South Shields this September. You’ll support children with SLD, PMLD, Autism, communication difficulties and complex medical needs, helping them access education through tailored learning, sensory experiences and positive relationships. This role would suit candidates with backgrounds in education, health care, residential care or support work who are passionate about improving the lives of children with additional needs.

Role Details

  • Full‑time
  • September 2026 start
  • Monday‑Friday
  • Working hours between 8:30am‑3:30pm and 8:30am‑4:30pm
  • Term‑time only
  • Long‑term opportunity with the potential to become permanent

Your role will include

  • Providing 1:1 and classroom support
  • Supporting communication and sensory learning
  • Assisting pupils with daily routines and personal care
