About Role

Protocol Education is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Harrow on the Hill, London, seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. The role:

  • Support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech & language difficulties.
  • Work 1:1 with students who require additional support.
  • Demonstrate a proactive and empathetic approach to supporting SEN students.
  • Reflect on and improve your practice through self-evaluation and CPD.

Candidate specification:

  • Experience working with children with SEN in a school or similar setting.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach toward the children.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.

All applicants must be willing to undergo vetting checks as part of the school’s commitment to Safeguarding and Anti-bullying. This will include:

  • Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through us).
  • Two recent references (covering the past 24 months of employment).
  • Overseas Police Check (if applicable – for candidates who have lived outside the UK for 3+ months in the past 5 years).
