We’re working with primary schools and nurseries across Havering, including Romford, looking for dedicated SEN Learning Support Mentors to join their teams full-time.

Whether it’s 1:1 support or working within a specialist SEN provision, your role will be all about helping pupils feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting pupils with SEN on a 1:1 basis or within a provision
  • Helping children stay engaged, focused, and confident in the classroom
  • Working closely with teachers and SENCOs to follow support plans
  • Creating a calm, structured environment where pupils can thrive
  • Building positive relationships, often being that key trusted adult

  • Experience working with children, this is essential
  • Someone reliable, consistent, and genuinely caring
  • A calm, patient approach, especially in challenging moments
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A willingness to learn and get stuck in
