  • The students study life skills more than academic courses, like creating items & selling them to the local community, gardening, home maintenance, shopping, and basic maths/English in real life scenarios.
  • They can train staff up and you don't need to have experience (although it is extremely helpful if you do).
  • Need to be willing to support young people with complex needs.
  • The college is incredibly supportive, and you would be working alongside several trained, experienced fellow learning support assistants.
  • The college also provides regular training, such as team teach, makaton, PECS, etc., so this is great for developing future skills and valuable knowledge.
  • This is a full-time position, working five days a week, but flexibility is available.
