Protocol Education are recruiting confident and proactive qualified Science Teachers (QTS required) to support secondary schools across South Bristol and Somerset in locations convenient for you. You’ll step into the classroom when teachers are absent, delivering pre-planned Science lessons and ensuring students stay motivated, supported, and on track with their learning.
This role is ideal for both experienced teachers looking for flexibility, or Science ECTs looking to gain valuable classroom experience and build relationships with schools to springboard into a long-term career. Successful applicants will bring subject knowledge, energy, and the ability to build positive relationships with both staff and students, giving you the opportunity to find the right school community for you. Whether you want to work 2 days, 5 days, or find long-term roles, we have roles to suit the needs of ambitious, hard-working and passionate candidates.
What the job looks like
- Confidently delivering pre-planned Science lessons, ensuring strong engagement and completion
- Managing behaviour with both consistency and warmth
- Supporting students with professionalism, encouragement, and patience
- Collecting and organising completed work for the use of the classroom teacher
- Reporting back on learning progress and behaviour for the use of the classroom teacher
Requirements
- UK QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
- Experience teaching Science in UK secondary schools
- Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry or Physics
- Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
- A positive, flexible and reliable approach
