Care Role with Consistency – Make a Real Difference in Sunderland. Looking for a role where you can truly get to know the young people you support, not just pop in and out? This one’s all about consistency, connection, and being a steady presence. We’re working with a welcoming children’s home in Sunderland, rated Good by Ofsted, who are looking for one dedicated person to cover maternity leave from 1st May to 1st October. This isn’t a “different face every shift” kind of setup. They’re looking for someone who can stay for the full 5 months, building trust, routines, and those all-important relationships.

What’s the role like? You'll be working 2 x 24-hour shifts per week, paid for 36 hours at £14 per hour, plus sleep‑ins at £62.50 as part of those shifts. The rota is planned 2 months in advance, so no last-minute surprises, you’ll always know where you stand.

What you’ll get:

  • A consistent role where you can really make an impact
  • Full induction and training, so you feel confident from day one
  • A clear rota to help you plan your life outside of work
  • A supportive environment that values stability for the children

Who this suits: Someone calm, reliable, and genuinely passionate about supporting young people. If you’re the kind of person who understands that trust takes time, and you’re happy to be that familiar face, you’ll fit right in.
