Not every classroom journey looks the same. Some young people need something different, a fresh start, a calmer space, or simply someone who believes in them.

We’re looking for compassionate and resilient 1:1 Tutors to support students who have been permanently excluded from mainstream education. These sessions go far beyond worksheets and whiteboards. You’ll be helping rebuild confidence, reconnect students with learning, and create moments where things finally start to click again.

You’ll plan and deliver personalised sessions across core subjects, adapting your approach to meet each learner where they are.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering engaging 1:1 tuition sessions in core subjects
  • Planning lessons tailored to individual learning needs and abilities
  • Supporting students with additional needs including SEMH, ASD, autism, and challenging behaviours
  • Building positive relationships that encourage trust, consistency, and progress
  • Travelling between tuition sessions across the local area

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum
  • Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
  • Calm, adaptable, and patient approach to behaviour support
  • Confidence working independently and managing personalised learning plans
  • A driver is desirable due to travel between tuition locations
  • Teaching qualification or equivalent is desirable
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

Why join us?

Because this work matters. You’ll be supporting students who need stability, encouragement, and someone willing to show up consistently. No two days are the same, but the impact you make can stay with a young person for years.

Plus, you’ll get:

  • Weekly PAYE pay, no umbrella company faff
  • FREE access to our online CPD Academy
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant
  • Opportunities to work in SEND and alternative provision settings
  • Flexible work that fits around your availability
  • Experience with Thrive practice is highly valued. If you’re not Thrive trained yet, don’t worry, we can help you access FREE Thrive training to boost your toolkit and support even more young people effectively.
