The Role
You will work
1:1 with a KS1 pupil who has suspected Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and is currently awaiting further assessment. The pupil benefits from a consistent routine, positive relationships and structured support throughout the school day.
Working closely with the class teacher and SENDCO, you will help the pupil access learning, follow their personalised timetable and develop confidence both academically and socially.
- Your Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
- Follow the pupil's individual timetable and established routines.
- Deliver phonics and maths interventions under the guidance of the class teacher.
- Adapt activities to meet the pupil's individual learning needs.
- Support emotional regulation and encourage positive engagement in lessons.
- Build a trusting, supportive relationship with the pupil.
- Record progress and share observations with school staff.
- The Ideal Candidate
- A degree in
- Psychology
(or a related subject).
- A genuine interest in supporting children with SEND.
- Patient, calm and empathetic approach.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Able to work as part of a supportive school team.
