Do you have a natural ability to connect with young people who see the world differently? We’re seeking an Autism Support Assistant to work in a nurturing specialist setting, supporting pupils with autism and related communication needs. You’ll be part of a collaborative team helping children develop social, emotional, and academic skills in a safe and structured environment.
Your role will include:
- Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small, consistent groups
- Using visual supports, communication aids, and sensory strategies
- Encouraging independence and positive engagement
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists
Ideal candidates will:
- Have experience or understanding of autism and neurodiversity
- Show empathy, flexibility, and emotional resilience
- Be proactive, reliable, and open to learning
