Pastoral and Academic Support – Secondary School
Full Time
We\’re looking for a passionate and proactive Pastoral and Academic Leader (PAL) to join a forward-thinking secondary school. Whether you join on a term-time or full-year basis, your role will be central to shaping the wellbeing, behaviour, and progress of pupils.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a PAL, you’ll be that consistent, steady presence students need. Your day-to-day will include:
- Leading on pupil behaviour, wellbeing and academic support
- Collaborating with staff, families, and external agencies to ensure every student is safe, seen, and supported
- Promoting positive behaviour and helping young people build self-belief and independence
- Working closely with the Assistant Head for Inclusion to deliver holistic student support
You’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Have experience in pastoral, learning, or wellbeing support
- Know how to build trust with young people, staff, and families
- Have a confident, calm presence and excellent communication skills
- Want to work in a setting that values development—for students and staff
