Protocol Education are working with a nurturing, well‑established nursery in BS13 who are looking for a confident and caring Room Leader to join them after half term. You’ll lead by example, support your team and ensure every child in your care gets the very best start. What you’ll be doing:
- Leading a nursery room and supporting a small team of practitioners
- Planning and delivering engaging, play‑based learning in line with the EYFS
- Monitoring children’s progress and supporting next steps in development
- Building strong, professional relationships with parents and carers
- Ensuring safeguarding and welfare standards are consistently met
- Creating a calm, organised and stimulating environment
You’ll set the tone for the room, modelling best practice and creating a space where both children and staff thrive.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Holds a relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years or above
- Has experience working within a nursery or early years setting
- Is confident leading a team and supporting colleagues’ development
- Has strong knowledge of the EYFS framework
- Communicates clearly and warmly with children, parents and staff
- Is organised, proactive and genuinely passionate about early childhood development
- A good sense of humour and a love of messy play definitely help too.

What we need to get you started:
Because you’ll be working in an early years setting and leading a room, safeguarding is everything. To get you cleared and ready to start, we’ll need:
- A valid passport
- Two proofs of address, for example a driving licence, utility bill or council tax letter
- A CV covering the last 10 years of work or education, with any gaps explained
- Two years of references, including recent early years or childcare employment
- An overseas police check if you have lived outside the UK for three months or more in the last five years
