Autism Support Assistant – North Shields (Full-Time)

Protocol Education is recruiting a full-time Autism Support Assistant to join a specialist educational setting in
North Shields .
This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and a range of additional learning needs.
You'll work closely with teachers and specialist staff to help learners access education, develop communication skills and build confidence in a calm, structured and inclusive environment.

- Providing tailored 1:1 and small-group support
- Helping pupils access lessons through clear, structured guidance
- Supporting communication, social interaction and independence
- Using consistent strategies to support emotional regulation
- Adapting activities and resources to meet individual needs
- Building positive and trusting relationships with learners
- Working closely with teachers, therapists and wider school staff
- Recognising and celebrating progress, however small

You’ll understand the importance of consistency and be confident remaining calm when situations become challenging.
