Graduate SEN Support Assistant

Location: Durham

Pay: £89.35-100 per day

Start: Immediate

Just graduated and wondering what’s next? If you’ve studied Psychology, Education, Health & Social Care, or something people-focused, this could be your perfect first step. A welcoming primary school in Durham is looking for a Graduate SEN Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil who needs calm, consistent support. You won’t be thrown in at the deep end. There’s a supportive SENCO, experienced TAs around you, and proper guidance from day one.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting a child with additional needs in the classroom
  • Helping with routines, transitions, and emotional regulation
  • Working closely with teachers and the SEND team
  • Building trust, confidence, and small daily wins

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has a degree and a genuine interest in SEN
  • Is patient, steady, and encouraging
  • Wants hands-on experience before teacher training or educational psychology
