Protocol Education are currently recruiting for an experienced Art Teacher to join a large, well-established secondary school in the Durham area. The Role

  • As an experienced Art Teacher, you will be expected to take a proactive role within the department, delivering engaging and challenging Art lessons across the secondary age range.
  • You will have the opportunity to:
    • Take a leading role in the Art department and contribute to its continued development
    • Deliver high-quality, engaging Art lessons that inspire and challenge students
    • Support curriculum planning and the development of schemes of work

The Ideal Candidate

  • The school is looking for an experienced and confident Art Teacher who can demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a proven track record of delivering excellent lessons. You will ideally have:
    • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
    • Significant experience teaching Art within a secondary school setting
    • Strong subject knowledge across a range of Art disciplines
    • Experience taking responsibility or a leading role within a department is highly desirable
    • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
    • A passion for Art and for developing students' creativity and confidence
    • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider department
    • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
