Help children find their voice and reach their potential. We're looking for a caring and dedicated Speech & Language SEND Support Assistant to join a specialist classroom in Benwell this September. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Global Developmental Delay, helping them develop communication skills, confidence, and independence in a nurturing learning environment.
Working alongside teachers, therapists, and support staff, you'll play a key role in helping pupils access learning and celebrate every achievement, big or small. Your role will include:
- Supporting speech, language, and communication development
- Working closely with pupils with ASC and Global Developmental Delay
- Delivering targeted communication and learning interventions
- Encouraging positive social interactions and engagement
- Creating a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment
- Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and families to support pupil progress
We're looking for someone who:
- Holds Speech & Language qualifications or relevant experience
- Has experience supporting children with SEND, particularly ASC
- Is patient, compassionate, and adaptable
- Communicates effectively with pupils, colleagues, and families
- Is passionate about helping every child succeed
