Are you positive about making a difference to the lives of children with special educational needs? Do you have a passion for helping children reach their full potential? We are working closely with specialist schools across Newcastle to seek a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant.

About the role:

  • Offer steady 1:1 support for a pupil with SEND and SEMH needs or working in a small group.
  • Follow individual education plans.
  • Help create a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support pupils in building social skills, confidence and emotional regulation.
  • Respond to challenging behaviour using a nurturing approach.
  • Work closely with the teachers, SENCO and outside professionals to support holistic development.

Requirements for the role as a SEN support assistant:

  • Experience supporting children or young people, ideally with SEND.
  • A calm, consistent approach to behaviour.
