We work closely with a wide mix of primary schools across Newcastle and Gateshead, and many of them are looking for enthusiastic graduates to support pupils in the classroom.

What you’ll be doing

  • Your typical working hours are 8:30 – 15:30, including a 30-minute break.
  • Supporting pupils in class, either in small groups or one to one.
  • Helping children stay focused, confident, and engaged with their learning.
  • Supervising pupils during lunchtime.
  • Working alongside teachers and experienced support staff.
  • Providing extra support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Getting involved in lessons, activities, and the general life of the school.
  • Being that extra pair of hands that really makes a difference.

Do I need experience?

If you don’t have any school experience yet, that’s absolutely fine. As a Teaching Assistant, you will receive:

  • Access to CPD and training to build your confidence and skills.
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant to help you progress.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
