A welcoming primary school in Kenton, Newcastle, is looking for a resilient, caring Early Years Teaching Assistant to support children with high levels of need in a nurturing EYFS setting. This is a role for someone who stays calm under pressure, builds trust quickly, and knows that progress doesn’t always look the same for every child.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting children in Early Years with complex needs, both 1:1 and in small groups
  • Helping children feel safe, regulated, and ready to learn
  • Using consistency, kindness, and clear boundaries to support behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Working closely with the class teacher and wider SEND team to adapt learning and routines
