We’re working with welcoming schools across Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland who are looking for confident, calm and motivated Behaviour/Learning Support Assistants to start immediately. This role is ideal for graduates, especially if you’re thinking about a future in teaching, educational psychology, pastoral work or youth support.

You’ll be:

  • Supporting pupils in lessons, small groups or 1:1
  • Helping manage behaviour and engagement in a positive, consistent way
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils who need extra support
  • Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams

This role is perfect if you:

  • Are a graduate, especially in psychology, criminology, education, sociology, sports science or similar
  • Have experience in support work, youth work, mentoring, coaching or care
  • Are resilient, patient and confident building rapport
  • Want hands-on school experience that genuinely counts

Requirements

  • The right to work in the UK
  • A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
  • Two professional references
  • A calm, reliable and professional approach
  • The ability to commit to school hours during term time

Experience supporting behaviour or additional needs is a big plus, but not essential if you’ve got the right mindset and motivation.
