We are working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Tower Hamlets to appoint a dedicated and passionate Music Teacher from September. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity, suitable for a teacher with a strong grounding in the national curriculum and a desire to contribute positively to both academic progress and the wider cultural life of the school.

The school offers excellent facilities, including a fully equipped music suite, practice rooms, and access to performance and recording equipment. They pride themselves on nurturing talent at all levels and encouraging pupil participation through classroom learning, enrichment clubs, and school productions.

Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality lessons in Music across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Teaching a broad and balanced curriculum that covers theory, composition, and performance

  • Preparing students for practical and written assessments, including GCSE examinations

  • Promoting music across the school through concerts, extracurricular activities, and ensemble work

  • Maintaining a positive and well-managed classroom environment that supports student engagement and progress

  • Contributing to departmental planning, assessments, and collaborative teaching approaches

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Have experience teaching Music in a UK secondary school setting
Demonstrate strong subject knowledge, both in theory and practical application
Be confident in teaching a range of instruments, with the ability to accompany students where appropriate (keyboard or guitar skills desirable)
Be committed to inclusive, engaging teaching and the development of the wider school arts offer
Possess excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
