We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Lower School Teacher to join a SEND school. This role focuses on delivering high-quality teaching and support to pupils in Key Stage 2, with a strong emphasis on Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will play a key role in creating an inclusive, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that supports pupils with a range of learning needs to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons aligned with the KS2 curriculum
- Support pupils with a variety of SEND, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual education plans (IEPs/EHCPs)
- Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback to parents and colleagues
- Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teaching assistants, and external professionals
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- Experience working with SEND pupils within a school setting
- Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and differentiation
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

- Experience within specialist or resource-based settings
