Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with complex needs to develop their independence, communication, and confidence? We are working with a specialist PMLD school in Loughton that is looking to appoint a caring and dedicated Pupil Support Assistant to join their supportive team from September. This specialist school supports pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), providing a nurturing, inclusive, and highly personalised environment where every child is supported to achieve their individual goals. The school focuses on developing communication, sensory awareness, independence, and wellbeing while ensuring each pupil receives the specialist support they need to thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to provide tailored support throughout the school day.
  • Assist pupils with their learning, communication, sensory activities, personal care, and mobility needs.
  • Create a safe, engaging, and positive environment where every pupil can flourish.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience supporting children or young people with PMLD, complex SEND, Autism, or additional needs.
  • Caring, patient, and compassionate.
  • Comfortable supporting pupils with personal care, mobility, and medical needs where required.
  • Genuine passion for helping children develop their independence and communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
