Do you have a passion for supporting young children with Special Educational Needs? Protocol Education is recruiting EYFS SEN Support Assistants to work across private nurseries and Nursery and Reception classes within mainstream primary schools. We have a range of full-time, part-time, long-term and daily supply opportunities available for caring, patient and enthusiastic individuals.

You'll play a vital role in helping young children develop their communication, confidence, independence and love of learning through nurturing, play‑based support. Your role may include:

  • Providing 1:1 support for children with additional needs
  • Supporting children within Nursery and Reception classrooms
  • Encouraging communication, social interaction and emotional development
  • Delivering engaging, play‑based learning activities
  • Working alongside teachers, nursery practitioners and SENCOs to implement individual support plans
  • Creating a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment

You may support children with:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • ADHD
  • Global Developmental Delay
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Sensory and communication differences

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with young children in an EYFS, nursery, childcare or SEN setting
  • Is patient, nurturing and passionate about early childhood development
  • Understands the importance of routine, play and positive relationships
  • Can adapt activities to meet individual learning needs
  • Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with colleagues and families
