A specialist setting in South Shields is looking for a Level 3 TA to join their team supporting children and young people aged 3–16 with a wide range of additional needs. What the role involves:
- Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support across Primary and/or Secondary phases
- Using de-escalation, regulation, and therapeutic approaches to support emotional wellbeing
- Helping pupils develop communication, independence, and life skills
- Collaborating with the wider support team to ensure consistent care and learning strategies
You’ll need:
- A Level 3 TA qualification (or equivalent)
- Proven experience supporting pupils with SEND (ASD, SEMH, PMLD, or complex needs)
- Confidence using communication systems (e.g. PECS, Makaton) and sensory strategies
- A calm, empathetic approach with strong behaviour support skills
