Are you a passionate Level 3 Early Years Practitioner looking to make a difference in the classroom?

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in LS26. This is a fantastic opportunity to support children during the crucial early stages of their education within a nurturing and supportive school environment.

This position is covering a member of staff who is currently absent. The role is therefore offered on a rolling basis, with no confirmed end date, providing stability while maintaining flexibility.

The Role

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support children's learning, development, and wellbeing across the Early Years Foundation Stage. You will help create an engaging and stimulating environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting teaching and learning within the Early Years classroom.
  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of engaging learning activities.
  • Supporting children's social, emotional, and educational development.
  • Encouraging learning through play and child-led activities.
  • Observing and monitoring children's progress.
  • Helping to maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents where required.
  • Promoting safeguarding and welfare at all times.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working within an Early Years setting.
  • Sound understanding of the EYFS Framework.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive, proactive, and nurturing approach.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's wellbeing.

Desirable

  • Experience working within a school-based Early Years setting.
  • Knowledge of phonics and early literacy development.
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs.

You'll be a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Early Years professional who is passionate about helping young children develop confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning. You'll be able to build positive relationships with children and colleagues alike, bringing energy and positivity to the classroom every day.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
