We are currently recruiting Learning Support Assistants (LSA) to work across mainstream secondary schools with SEND provisions across Tyne and Wear. This is a permanent opportunity offering flexible placements, strong support, and excellent experience for anyone interested in working with young people in education.

Protocol Education, part of the Supporting Education Group, works closely with secondary schools and SEND provisions across Tyne and Wear to provide high-quality support staff. We offer professional training, safeguarding support and personalised development for those beginning a career in education.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students access learning, build confidence, and succeed in a secondary school environment. Depending on the school and student needs, your role may include:

  • Supporting students in the classroom (whole class, small group or 1-to-1)
  • Working with students with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties
  • Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom organisation
  • Providing encouragement, structure and positive behaviour support
  • Helping students stay engaged, motivated and on task
  • Supporting pupils both academically and pastorally throughout the school day

Roles are well-structured, with clear expectations and support from experienced school staff.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
