We are seeking passionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistants to support students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) in Kingston-based Primary and Secondary schools. You will work closely with teachers and therapists to create a nurturing and stimulating environment tailored to each child’s individual needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASD / PMLD
  • Assist with personal care and mobility needs
  • Support sensory-based learning and therapeutic activities
  • Promote independence and emotional well-being
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including SENCOs, speech therapists, and physiotherapists
  • Ensure safeguarding and uphold school policies

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people with PMLD or complex needs
  • Understanding of SEN strategies and communication tools (e.g., PECS, Makaton, sensory integration)
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one through us)
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach, Moving & Handling) are desirable but not mandatory
