As a Well-being Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students with SEN and SEMH needs to navigate their educational journey and promote their mental and emotional well-being. You will work closely with students, teachers, and families to provide the support and encouragement necessary for students to succeed both academically and personally.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Offering one-on-one and group support to students with SEN and SEMH needs, helping them build emotional resilience and well-being.
- Assisting students with coping strategies for managing stress, anxiety, and other emotional challenges.
- Helping students develop social and emotional skills to thrive in the school environment.
- Working closely with teachers, special educational staff, and parents to create and implement individualised support plans.
- Encouraging positive behaviour, self-confidence, and independence among students.
- Supporting students to manage their mental health needs and providing a safe, supportive space when required.
Key Skills and Qualities:
- A genuine passion for supporting students with SEN and SEMH needs.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students.
- Patience, empathy, and a non-judgmental approach to supporting young people.
- Ability to implement tailored support strategies and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience in supporting students with SEN/SEMH or in a similar well-being or educational role is highly desirable.
- A commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment for all students.
