We are working in partnership with a primary school in Keynsham to recruit caring, reliable and flexible Early Years & Nursery Support Staff who are passionate about helping young children thrive during their earliest stages of learning. We are seeking Nursery Assistants, Early Years Practitioners and Learning Support Staff who understand the importance of creating a safe, engaging and supportive environment where children can develop confidence, independence and a love of learning.

Based within the school's Nursery and Reception provision, you will support children across the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), with some opportunities to work alongside Key Stage 1 pupils. You may work one-to-one with individual children or support small groups throughout the school day. Your role will include:

  • Helping children settle into routines

About You

  • Comfortable supporting children aged 2–5, with some exposure to Key Stage 1
  • Calm, patient and naturally nurturing
  • Confident building positive relationships with children, staff and families
  • Enthusiastic about play-based learning and early childhood development
  • Understanding of individual learning needs, including SEND
  • Reliable, adaptable and committed to helping children succeed

Compliance Requirements

To register with Protocol Education, you will need:

  • A valid passport or proof of right to work
  • Two proofs of address (e.g. driving licence, utility bill or council tax statement)
  • An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years of employment or education, with any gaps explained
  • References covering the previous two years, including childcare or youth work where applicable
  • An Overseas Police Check (if you have lived abroad for three months or more within the last five years)
