Schools across Kirklees are preparing for a busy September and are looking for confident, reliable Cover Supervisors to join their teams. Whether you've worked in education before, recently graduated, coached sports, led youth groups, or simply enjoy working with young people, this could be the perfect opportunity. If you can keep a classroom running smoothly, build positive relationships, and bring plenty of confidence and enthusiasm, we'd love to hear from you.
As a Cover Supervisor, you'll step into the classroom when teachers are away, delivering pre-planned lessons and keeping pupils engaged throughout the day. There's no lesson planning or marking, just the opportunity to make a real difference while gaining valuable classroom experience.
You’ll be:
- Delivering pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects
- Managing classroom behaviour and creating a positive learning environment
- Encouraging pupils to stay focused and complete their work
- Supporting students with questions where appropriate
- Building confidence and experience in a variety of secondary schools across Kirklees
Every day brings something different, making this an ideal role if you enjoy variety and flexibility. We're looking for people who:
- Have experience working with young people, either in schools or other settings
- Are confident leading groups and communicating clearly
- Can remain calm, organised and adaptable
- Have strong behaviour management skills or are keen to develop them
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or are happy to apply for one
