We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Caterham. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys taking the lead, supporting pupils across the classroom and making a real difference every day. You’ll be working closely with teachers and support staff to create a positive, inclusive learning environment where every child has the chance to thrive.
What you’ll be doing:
- Delivering planned learning activities to individuals, small groups and whole classes
- Providing classroom cover when required
- Leading targeted interventions and supporting pupil progress
- Adapting activities to meet a range of learning needs
- Supporting pupils with SEND, building confidence and encouraging independence
- Helping to create a calm, structured and engaging classroom environment
- Working closely with teachers and other school staff to ensure pupils receive the right support
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Previous experience working as an HLTA or in a similar higher-level support role
- A recognised HLTA qualification, or relevant experience supporting teaching and learning
- Confidence delivering lessons and managing a classroom independently
- Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, positive approach
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND, including adapting learning to individual needs
- Excellent communication skills and a genuine ability to build positive relationships
